Q&A
Stephanie: How do you envision AI tools integrating into business growth?
Peter: The answer is simply "yes." Whether it's horizontally or vertically integrated, AI is quintessential to business success moving forward. You must be utilizing AI if you want to succeed because if you don't, someone else will, and ultimately, you will fail. It doesn't matter how intelligent or interesting you are – if you're not using AI and your competitor is, you're going to lose.
Stephanie: What's your framework for identifying opportunities that actually serve creators?
Peter: It's multifaceted. First and foremost, creatives need to create multiple revenue streams, especially since they're building on foundations they don't own. Whether it's e-commerce, membership, brand deals, or ad revenue – the answer is "yes" to all of them.
I focus on educating creators, using myself as a guinea pig, to help them understand that they're building a business. It's vital to integrate AI into everything they do to encapsulate their best ideas and never forget any idea they have moving forward. We now have a superpower that humans have never had before – the ability to create our own context window of ourselves.
Stephanie: What common mistakes do you see creators making with AI, particularly in marketing?
Peter: I honestly despise the words "marketing" and "content." These terms have become dirty words because they often represent fodder for feeds and algorithms that own us. We need to redefine what marketing will mean in the near future.
The world is changing so rapidly that we can't even fathom what it will look like in 18 months. With AI tools giving us access to intelligence comparable to great minds like Einstein, the possibilities are mind-boggling. The challenge is getting people to adopt and truly leverage these opportunities.
Stephanie: How does AI change the dynamic of building with creators in the near future?
Peter: If consumer businesses focused on getting consumers' attention, particularly in the creator economy, aren't truly building alongside creators and having them be part of product development, they're doing themselves a disservice.
The ultimate co-founder of any company moving forward would be a creator who is also fully bought into the integration of AI. This combination brings an understanding of community building, go-to-market strategies, and the ability to leverage AI for rapid development and innovation.
Stephanie: What challenges should people be preparing for as they embrace these AI tools and opportunities?
Peter: If you aren't earning passive income while you're sleeping, you're in a dangerous position moving forward. You should be spending your free time learning about the newest tools and opportunities out there. There's never been a greater time to learn because we're advancing at such an accelerated rate.
I recommend recording everything you say and capturing all your ideas. It's a superpower, and if you're not doing it, you're doing yourself a disservice. Simultaneously, it's crucial to balance this with being present in the moment with friends and family, away from devices.
